It always makes us sick when we hear of mistreatment of our veterans, those who have dedicated their lives to protecting the American people.
Now, Valerie Riviello, a nurse at the Albany Stratton VA in New York, has come public with a disturbing practice in her hospital.
According to Riviello, employees at the Albany VA are denying veterans morphine, and giving them salt water in its place. Riviello notes that there is a “great deal of corruption” in the hospital, and claims that nurses who treat the hospice patients have been replacing drugs with a mixture of water and salt.
Riviello also claims that management was notified of the crime, but did not take action. Now, the VA inspector general is launching an investigation into the incident.
